VACANCIES FOR THE POST OF TEMPORARY DISTRICT MAGISTRATE
IN THE JUDICIARY
Applications are invited from qualified candidates who wish to be considered for appointment as Temporary District Magistrate in the Judiciary, with salary at the flat rate of Rs 38350 per month.
The post, upon appointment as District Magistrate, carries salary in the scale of Rs 38350 x 1225 – 40800 x 1525 – 49950 x 1625 – 62950 on the permanent and pensionable establishment plus fringe benefits in accordance with PRB Recommendations.
The selected candidates shall, upon holding substantive appointment as District Magistrate, be subject to transfer and appointment as State Counsel in the Attorney-General’s Office or the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, as may be decided by the Judicial and Legal Service Commission.
Qualifications
Candidates should be qualified to practice as barristers in Mauritius, with at least two years’ standing at the Bar.
Mode of Application
Qualified candidates should submit their applications on the prescribed form obtainable from the Secretary, Judicial and Legal Service Commission, Supreme Court, Port Louis.
They should also annex to their application form:
(i) a duly signed curriculum vitae,
(ii) a photocopy of their Birth Certificate, and
(iii) photocopies of all their educational and professional qualification certificates.
