By virtue of authority conferred upon me by Section 181 of the Road Traffic Act, the following traffic arrangements as hereunder have been made in the Red Zone areas comprising Batimarais, Bénares, Tyack, Rivière des Anguilles, St Aubin and Union Ducray as from 1900 hours on Friday 30 April 2021.
- Check Points Police has set up check points at the following locations:-
(i) before Tyack when coming from the direction of Britannia;
(ii) before Union Ducray when coming from the direction of Souillac;
(iii) before Chateau Bénares when coming from the direction of Camp Diable; and,
(iv) before Colmar when coming from the direction of Rivière Dragon.
- Traffic Diversion:
(i) Motor vehicles coming from the direction of Curepipe and proceeding towards Souillac will use Grand Bois road as from La Flora, Bois Cheri road, Grand Bassin road, Petrin, Mare aux Anguilles road, Bassin Blanc, Chamouny road, Main road Chemin Grenier and Surinam road or La Brasserie road, La Marie road, Petrin, Bassin Blanc, Chamouny road, main road Chemin Grenier and Surinam;
(ii) Motor vehicles coming from Chemin Grenier and Souillac and proceeding towards Curepipe will use Surinam road, Main road Chemin Grenier, Chamouny road, Bassin Blanc, Mare aux Anguilles road, Petrin, La Marie road and La Brasserie;
(iii) Motor vehicles coming from the direction of L’Escalier Road and La Baraque road and proceeding towards Souillac will use Camp Diable road, Riche Bois road, Savanne road, La Flora, Bois Cheri road, Grand Bassin road, Petrin, Mare aux Anguilles road, Bassin Blanc, Chamouny road, and main road Chemin Grenier; and
(iv) Motor vehicles coming from the direction of Souillac and proceeding to Mahebourg will use Surinam road, Chemin Grenier road, Chamouny road, Bassin Blanc, Mare aux Anguilles road, Petrin, Grand Bassin road, Bois Cheri road, La Flora road, Savanne road, Riche Bois road and Camp Diable road.
- Route Buses
• Route buses coming from the direction of Souillac and proceeding towards Curepipe and vice versa will be allowed to transit through Savanne road in the sealed off area without alighting or taking passengers.
• Route buses coming from the direction of Chemin Grenier and proceeding towards Mahebourg and vice versa, will pass through Souillac, Riviere des Anguilles, La Barraque road, Batimarais, Bénares, La Sourdine, L’Escalier, Plein Bois and Plaine Magnien towards Mahebourg without alighting or taking passengers along the sealed off area.
