Re-alignment of St Jean Road (A8) from its junction with Tulipes Avenue up to Cemetery Access Road, Quatre Bornes.
The public is hereby informed that in the context of the Metro Express Project, major construction works will be undertaken along St Jean Road in the vicinity of Tulipes Avenue/St Jean Cemetery/St Jean Round-about, Quatre-Bornes as from Thursday 30 September 2021.
For the safe execution of the works, the stretch of St Jean Road will be realigned as part of the final configuration. Traffic on St Jean Road in the direction of Port Louis will not be allowed to right turn onto Tulipes Avenue and will have to proceed to the St Jean Roundabout to move towards Tulipes Avenue or La Louise/Candos.
Additionally, the access road towards Rose Hill adjoining St Jean Cemetery will be opened to traffic. With the newly realigned St Jean Road, traffic will, therefore join the link road to proceed towards Port Louis/Ebene or move to the St Jean Roundabout to proceed towards Curepipe/Trianon.
The necessary traffic signs will be set up to inform and guide road users.
Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution when approaching the works area and to drive within the prevailing speed limit.
